The Born free foundation is an animal charity, founded by Virginia McKenna OBE, Will Travers OBE and Bill Travers MBE in 1984. Their first Ethiopian wildlife conservation project was established in 1995. They work to ensure that all wild animals, whether living in captivity or in the wild, are treated with compassion and respect and are able to live according to their needs.Born free Ethiopia runs Ensessa Kotteh Wildlife Rescue, Conservation and Education Center. Ensessa Kotteh takes in wild animals confiscated from the illegal wildlife trade or found orphaned or injured.

The wildlife that’s that are being taken care of include; lions, cheetahs, primates, lynxes, servals, hyenas, leopards and Ethiopian wolves among others.The location is a nice place to hike, have a picnic and appreciate the beauty of the forest while admiring the different wildlife.Near Menagesha Town, 25km west of Finfinne/AddisAbaba
